Our One-Month-Old

I never get tired of looking at him!
Nolan turned one month last Thursday, 12/16/10. He seems to be growing by leaps and bounds. I commented just this morning how I swear he looks bigger from only yesterday! Let's see what this month has brought us...
  • We think you weigh between 7 and 8 pounds now. Daddy weighs himself than weighs himself with you. You are definitely longer than the 20.5 inches you were at two weeks.
  • You drink breast milk like a champ. An Olympic gold medalist champ. You heart the stuff ALL.THE.TIME. Mommy has decided she enjoys pumping more than feeding you from the boobie because it takes less time to feed you from the bottle.
  • Mommy has no shortage of breast milk. I can pump 4-6oz in one sitting, 8 or more ounces if I've waited too long to pump. I make several large bottles a day for you, and usually freeze at least one 5oz bag for future use. Mommy is the envy of dairy farms everywhere.
  • You are strong. You love to kick, grab fingers, lift and move your head. When having tummy time, you scoot quite far before tiring.
  • You are much more alert after feedings now. You love play time. You have started to smile and coo while playing 'peek a boo.' You stare at your toys longer and even grabbed hold of one and lifted it yesterday!
  • One of your favorite things is definitely bath time. You also love rocking and laying on our chests, any kind of music, dancing and talking. I swear you tell me "I love Mommy" all the time. ;)
  • One thing that is really driving Mommy crazy? You spit up. ALL.THE.TIME. It doesn't bother you at all; you actually smile most of the time after spitting up. But we go through several outfit changes before leaving the house (you AND Mommy), and we're constantly mopping up behind you. As long as it doesn't bother you, than I guess it's just something I'll have to get use to until you grow out of?

Nolan, you are one amazing little boy. Mommy and Daddy love you more and more every second of every day.

I remember all of the outfit changes from spitting up. It's not fun. I hope he's got a ton of clothes. :)
