Our Two-Month-Old

Nolan officially turned two months on Sunday, 1-16-11. Time is flying...too fast!

Let's see what's been happening this month...

  • You are 10.5 lbs and 23 inches long. Your pediatrician was really impressed with your growth, especially since you only eat breast milk. I'm thinking you are going to be tall like your Daddy!
  • You are very strong. You love to whip your head back and forth really fast, scoot like crazy when you're on your belly and push off Mommy and Daddy with your legs when you want to play.
  • Smiles and laughing take up most of your time. You like when we sing to you, especially "Itsy Bitsy Spider," and you love the kissing game Mommy made up. But when Daddy gets home and holds you in his arms, he doesn't have to do anything to make you laugh; just staring up at him really gets your giggles going. CUTEST.THING.EVER.
  • You still love bath time, and seem to enjoy that we've started a nightly routine. Bath, pj's, rocking and reading, then lights out by 9. You sleep until 3am before waking again to eat. Thank you!
  • You sleep on your tummy and have since about 4 weeks old.
  • You still spit up quite a bit. This doesn't seem to bother you as if it were acid reflux, and you are growing well. Our washer and dryer are really taking a beating, though.
  • You and I started a Mommy & Me Yoga class this month. Out of 9 other babies you are the youngest by two weeks. You love when we do our stretches and breathing exercises. Sometimes when it gets too quiet, you like to start laughing really loud. You've also burped really loud to show the other girls who the manly man is.
  • We put a 'kick & play piano' in your crib, and you really enjoy knowing that you are the one making the music play. If I can stop staring at you long enough, this usually gives Mommy about 20 minutes of free time.
  • You've discovered your voice. You love "talking," laughing, and in the last week you have started to scream every once in a while. Not a crying scream, but a "Hey! Look at me! I'm too freaking cute and just realized I know how to be loud" scream. When you are upset, you can go from silent to wailing in about two seconds. Very impressive.
  • When Jammy & Pops (my parents) are on speakerphone, you stare at the phone, smile and start talking and laughing with them. I so wished they lived closer, but they make it up here every chance they get.

Nolan, you continue to change and amaze Daddy and Mommy everyday. Not that I want it to fly by, but I so look forward to the changes we'll see in you this coming month. At the rate you discover and learn, I wouldn't be surprised if you were belting out your ABC's when you wake up from nap time soon. ;)
