Yesterday marked 3 months since Nolan's arrival. Little Man has changed so much in just a month!
- At last week's doctor's visit you weighed 11.5 lbs and were 23 inches long. I know you are bigger than that now. You are growing like a weed!
- You got your first cold this month followed by an ear infection in the right ear. Luckily it never seemed to get your spirits down, and you've been on antibiotics for the last ten days.
- Your strength is unbelievable to me, not that I have anything to compare it to. You hold your head up really well; can lift your head and neck very high off the ground when we have tummy time; you lift yourself up a little with your arms when on your stomach; you kick...hard; and you've got a nice vice grip. You have found and pulled Mommy's hair a few times now.
- Three times I've found you on your back in your crib; you sleep on your stomach! Today you did roll yourself on your side during play time, but couldn't quite figure out how to roll all the way over. It seems like when we don't get to you fast enough in the crib, you are mad enough to have the strength to roll over all the way.
- Mommy was finally smart enough to bring out the Flip video camera. Getting your laugh on camera is the BEST.THING.EVER.
- Breast milk is your drug of choice. Thankfully you eat a lot more at a time now so I don't have to pump as much. I have been feeding you a bit of yogurt each day since you're on antibiotics. The pediatrician asked me to give it to you while you're taking meds so you get the proper balance of probiotics. While he recommended I mix it with water and give it to you through a bottle, I threw caution to the wind and feed it to you straight from a spoon. It may be a little messy, but you eat it pretty well! Your poop is certainly a little more nasty now...
- You love riding in the Baby Bjorn, face forward so you can see everything; you are kind of over the Moby; you have almost mastered sitting well in the Bumbo but aren't quite there yet.
- Clothing size: practically busting out of 0-3 months; 3 months fits great; 3-6 months are a little big but wearable
- Diaper size: 1-2
- Your longest nap is usually after your morning feeding; you also take a noonish nap and an early evening nap. Bedtime is typically 8:30, with your next feeding about 2am. Sometimes, you don't wake up until 5:30am, though!
- Favorite toy: Sophie the Giraffe (I'm no doctor, but I swear you have begun teething!); Baby Einstein Ocean Adventure play mat (you and the Octopus carry on quite the conversation)
- Singing songs, "jumping" on the bed, the kissing and tickle games still bring the giggles.
- The pacifier is a hit or miss with you, which is really nice. You don't need it to sleep, but sometimes you just like to have something to suck on. The Monkey pacimal pacifier is a nice to have--you are learning to hold, take out of your mouth and sometimes even stick it back in your mouth on your own.
Happy 3 Months, Kiddo! We love you to the moon and back!
