Aaron and I had an amazing time in NYC. We walked all over the city, mastered the subway, strolled through Central Park and visited the main tourist hot spots. Most importantly, though, is the fabulous (and insane amounts of) food we consumed while on vacation. My doctor gave me strict instructions before leaving that I wasn't supposed to eat, well, basically anything that sounds delicious so as not to cause another gallstone attack. Oops....I was in New York City for crying out loud! The city where there is another famous restaurant on every other corner and a scrumptious snack staring you in the face at every turn. Good thing the doc loaded me up on strong pain medicine before leaving for the trip and consuming this.......

We started our trip dining at Delta's Cajun restaurant where I tried Fried Green Tomatoes for the first time. YUM YUM YUM.

For dessert, my aunt took us to this market where they have samples of almost all their cheese on display. I tried Every. One.

We walked off dinner through Times Square and landed in the Hershey store. Coincidence?

Before seeing Hair, my uncle treated us all to hot pretzels and spicy mustard from a nearby street vendor.

After the show we dined on THE BEST pizza in Queen's...Danni's Pizza. O.M.G.

Before catching the ferry to Liberty & Ellis islands, we grabbed a hot dog from a street vendor. Not a good choice....stick with the pretzels.

After walking from Battery Park, to the World Trade Center memorial, through Chinatown, we landed in Little Italy where we were starving. We took a suggestion from a pilot we had met at a local bar the night before, and dined at Lombardi's. OH. MY. GOD. Hands down the best pizza in downtown Manhattan. I suggest a pepperoni & spinach pizza topped with a Yeungling beer. HEAVEN.
That night, Aaron and I thought we would treat everyone to dessert. We took a suggestion from a fellow bloggy friend, Marian at Escaping the Single Life, and were not disappointed. I quickly scarfed down my fair share of mini cheesecake and red velvet cupcakes from Magnolia Bakery. HEAVEN IN MY MOUTH.

For lunch one day, we took my aunt's suggestion and dined at Max Brenner's. He specializes in everything chocolate (like my dark chocolate martini), but the regular food is to die for, too! Aaron raved about his chicken wings & garlic mashed potatoes while I couldn't stop stuffing my face with the crispy mac & cheese w/ bacon.

The last restaurant on our trip was spent at Heartland Brewery. Their homemade lager is addicting and their food isn't too shabby. Definitely not typical bar food. You must drink their house beer and munch on the sweet potato fries.
